Changemakers has recently teamed up with the Forward Foundation to enable ten young people to take part in a two week training programme teaching them how to exploit the web and build their own website.
The Forward Foundation was founded by technology experts, the Forward Internet Group, to enable young people to secure a fulfilling and productive livelihood.
The training programme was run by developers from Forward and gave the group of young people an opportunity to gain experience of the IT industry and web development as a whole.
Rafiq, who took part in the training programme, says:
“It was a great opportunity to get an insight into the world of technology. In the space of two short weeks I have learnt how to design, build and manage my own interactive website which I think is pretty awesome! I also managed to pick up a lot of valuable skills which I can take away with me and expand. The programme has opened my mind to new horizons; I would definitely recommend it to others.”
