Changemakers has recently been awarded a grant from the CNL Young People’s Fund at the Community Foundation Tyne and Wear and Northumberland which supports local communities.
The grant will enable three young people in Northumberland to participate in Changemakers’ Leadership Development Programme, giving them the skills and tools to lead change in their local communities. Each young person on the programme will learn skills such as self-awareness, public speaking and decision making, and will then work with 50 other young people to design and deliver a social action project to address a local need in their area.
Adam Nichols, Chief Executive at Changemakers said:
“We are delighted to receive this funding from the CNL Young People’s Fund at the Community Foundation. The grant will allow us to continue our critical work supporting young people to develop their leadership skills and to build on our existing support for young people in Northumberland.”
Elaine Holdsworth, Fund Development Manager at the Community Foundation said:
“The CNL Young People’s Fund at the Community Foundation is committed to supporting work which improves young people’s life chances. The Community Foundation is delighted to support Changemakers’ Leadership Development Programme and hopes to see many young people benefit from the programme.”
